Be it resolved that Main Street from the south side of Genelle Street to the north side of Algoma Street be closed on August 2, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until approximately 9:00 p.m. for the Car and Bike Show - Northern Family Fun Night.
Be it resolved that ‘No Parking’ signs be placed along the north side of Huron Street East from Dyment Street to the Marina and on the north side of Algoma Street East from Bay Street to the Marina on August 3, 2018 from 7:00 p.m. until the conclusion of the fireworks (in the case of rain, on August 5, 2018 from 7:00 p.m. until the conclusion of fireworks), to enable emergency vehicle access to this area.
Be it resolved that Council approve the closure of Government Road between Federation Street and Main Street, Main Street between Peachy Street and Huron Street, Huron Street between Main Street and Water Street, and Water Street between Huron Street and Government Road, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on August 4, 2018 for the Community Day Parade.
Be it resolved that, in order to alert persons of the parade in the downtown area on August 4, 2018 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Council approve a detour for persons using the easterly entrance to the municipality, with the detour to direct traffic traveling into Town along River Street easterly onto Peachy Street, and northerly onto Boundary Road to Highway 17, with signage advising of the road closure to be posted in advance as well as articles placed online and through the media advising of this detour.
Be it resolved that Council approve the use of the former spur from Peachy Street to Genelle Street as a detour during the parade with written permission from Birchland Veneer Limited and with the road to be graded prior to August 4, 2018, if necessary.
Be it resolved that Council approve the closure on Community Day, August 4, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. of the section of Main Street from the south side of Lorne Street to the north side of Bay Street including the service lane west of Main Street from the south side of Lorne Street to the north side of Algoma Street for games, food booths and various activities to take place after the parade.
